Motorsport mad maths graduate wishing to help you achieve your mathematical goals at GCSE and A-Level.
I like a good one-to-one teaching style or hosting a small group. I will also personalise the lesson plan to however any prospective student wishes the learn! We all learn differently after all. I will go through a past paper with all students if desired at the beginning, but I will also take upon requests to tackle specific problem areas. For example, I would have loved work on geometry when I was at school and sixth form! So please do tell me about any weaknesses one may have. I am willing to take on any GCSE or A-Level student. Whether that’s ensuring a 5 at GCSE or pushing for that A* at A-Level, I will be here for you. I have previously tutored some university friends for a first year module which was also helpful to me for my exams at the time. Additionally at sixth form, I was part of the highest Foundation Maths set to push those students for their then C grade potential and possibly beyond if they could push for a Higher paper.
I have previously tutored a group of university friends for a Financial module they were undertaking. I also assisted a class of Year 11’s who were in the highest Foundation set for Maths whilst I was in Year 12 and 13. My understanding was that almost every student in that class got their crucial C!
If the student is wishing to use these lessons to compliment their school/sixth form learning, then I will assist them with any issues that arise! As for students who are retaking their exams, I will start by giving them a past paper to see where we need to target time and effort in order to make them be successful in their exam. Any lessons would be targeted. I would also include a mental maths exercise before every lesson from my primary school days. I will get students to do a 12x12 multiplication grid with the numbers randomised under a 15 minute time limit. This should help with mental sharpness considering non-calculator papers are the staple of exam specs currently with GCSE. For A-Level students, it will be a way of warming the brain up.
I do not have recent experience with any of them, but I will be looking into
Mostly successful across the board. My university friends were posting firsts and 2:1’s in the Financial module. Most students in the Foundation classes managed to achieve their C’s.
